Tidbits
nfortunately, I lack the time to have a proper coronary about these things, but here’s what we’ve got going on in the big wide world today:
- ‘Cuz I Know You Don’t Read, Fool! — What’s wrong with you people? Read something, goddammit! It’s fun!
- Evolution: We finally proved it in a lab. Now leave us the fuck alone.
- Impeachment: there’s a slender chance we might manage to do the right thing after all.
In real life news, I am on Day 11 of a 12-Day stretch at work. Short-Handed + Needs Hours = 12 Days in a Row. I clocked some serious hours last week, yay, and man, am I paying for it. There isn’t enough sleep in the world to make up for this. Used to be, I could do stretches like this standing on my head. I must be getting old. Wednesday can’t get here fast enough!
And, in writing news, I’ve figured out the plot, the beginning, and the end of the book. I got the end yesterday. Now all I have to do is finish writing the damn thing. Heh.
PS: The video is Motley Crue’s new single, If I Die Tomorrow. The video has a bad case of stupid, which is a shame. But I like the song. Not bad for a bunch of old farts. ![]()

You know, I just can’t believe those reading stats. I mean, yes, Canada and the US both have a tragically high illiteracy rate, not to even touch people who can read but for the most part choose not to, but how the hell do they know somebody NEVER NEVER EVER read another book after school? Do they sit around death beds waiting to ask? And what is a ‘book’? Even the worst readers I know read something - even if it is utter crap
- do they not count magazines? Romance novels? Reader’s motherfuckin’ Digest? It may not be quality, but it’s still reading. Case in point, my sister. She hated reading as a kid, she still hates reading now, but she still has about a dozen books to her name. Now, to me, that’s still a horrific idea (she’s 29, wtf), but it’s not zero, and it’s hard for me to picture anybody who hated reading more than she did.

I have a hard time with the 80% of families who did not buy or read a book last year!!! That’s an awesome percentage. I don’t understand the mentality of people who do not read but I have seen the results of not reading! Most people I know would benefit from picking up any book or magazine! Get some rest and see you soon. Are you planning on coming up on your day off? Love ya lots!
