A Toast! (24)

o Kindle, Amazon’s new toy. It’s strictly an E-Book reader, and it’s first generation, so it’s a bit buggy. I still want one. Can you imagine the joy of carrying an entire library around in your back pocket?
To finding ways around the stem cell bans! Dr. Shinya Yamanaka of Kyoto University has discovered a way to get regular cells to act like stem cells. The technique is still brand shiny new, so it’s got a few kinks to work out, but it shows great promise.
To the Twenty Worst Foods in America. Damn, most of that stuff looks pretty good.
To J. K. Rowling, who is set to win Time’s Person of the Year award. Because, apparently, the most significant thing that happened this year was that some lady wrote some kids’ books. Right.
To Wowio, which will give you free books. What’s not to love about free books?
To this amazingly good and thoughtful article on “hardcore” atheism VS. Christian fundies that I found on Cracked.com, of all the places.

The war that’s coming between the fundamentalist Christians and the hard-core Atheists probably won’t be the most violent of the holy wars. But it has the potential to be the most annoying. We’ll, I’m going to try to stop it.

I have run into a period of extreme business. I’m writing a bunch, gaming a bunch, and getting ready for the holidays a bunch. Please forgive me if I’m not able to blog a bunch, too. ;) On that note, I’m out of here.

I assume you mean the atheists VS. fundies article? It was good. I was amazed to find something of that caliber on the website for Cracked magazine.

(For anyone not in the know, Cracked is the kiddie version of Mad magazine.)
