Java Goes Live

elcome to my first attempt at “vlogging”. I didn’t think it came out too badly, although I think in the future, I’ll write the rant first, rather than trying to do it off the cuff. Incidentally, this was recorded on my digital camera. I had no idea it could take such good video footage. Not too shabby at all.

Thank-you to Crooks&Liars for the footage of Sen. Craig’s statement.

Well, that took me almost an hour to download! I love dial-up! But it was very interesting to watch you and I always like your take on situations. Keep it up.

I actually missed a few points I wanted to make. Like I said — if I do another of these, I’m going to write it out, first. Incidentally, did you see them playing the tapes of the interview between the cop and Craig? It was on CNN last night. The cop came off as a serious prick, to me. The tapes made me wonder if Craig might not be telling the truth, and just have been really stupid about how he handled the legalities. (If so, then he should step down for being that stupid, not for being an embarrassment. ;) )

For future “vlogging” post a link that will allow us to download it without it playing at the same time IE a “Save Target as” type deal.

Hmm, I don’t think Youtube allows for that option, and I don’t know how to do the “vlogging” thing without YouTube.

If you have Firefox, Video Downloader has an extension that lets you save video (you’ll need a player that can handle FLV files, I recommend VLC media player - plays darn near anything I throw at it, including FLV files). If you don’t you can just use their website or you could try Ares Tube, which converts to mpeg or mp4 format. All the above are freeware.
