A Toast! (13)
Toast to . . .
- The Arizona reporters in the helicopter crash yesterday.
- NASA’s astronauts apparently getting loaded before blasting off into space. Because frankly, if you were going to strap my ass to a huge rocket and blow me into space, I’d get drunk first, too.
- The 9/11 bill, which has finally been passed through Congress. About damn time.
- Anyone who is surprised by the fact that Aquafina is actually tap water. Someone told me that they didn’t know that — *shock!* *horror!* “How could they?!” — so I slapped them. Well, not really, but I wanted to.
- Saudi Arabia, who scored a 20 billion dollar arms deal with the US. Yeah. None of those weapons will ever end up in the hands of terrorists.
- This lolcat, and this puppy. Hee!
- Mike Smith, who’s doing one of his infamous blow-by-blow reviews of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. OMGSpoilers!

Woohoo for Mike’s DH reviews.
I had worried they’d be bad - his HBP reviews were great but most of it since seemed to be lacking. They’ve been pretty enjoyable so far, though!
And wow, what were the chances of that helicopter crash? Actually, thinking on it, I’m surprised it doesn’t happen more often.

I agree — his PoA and SS reviews weren’t as good as the HBP review. I suspect it’s because he only did those two reviews because his friends were pestering him so much. It seems like he actually wanted to review DH, and it’s been much better.
As for the helicopter crash — I heard on CNN the other day that the news stations who’s people died in the crash want to sue the criminal that the copters were following, for damages. WTF? How is it the criminal’s fault that the two copter pilots apparently didn’t notice the only other copter in the sky?

Wtf indeed.
I can’t imagine they’ll be successful, but the fact that they’d even consider it is ridiculous.
I live about 100 miles away from where the crash happened, by the way - I mention this because I’ve only heard of the crash from you.
There was nothing about it on the news earlier, or yesterday as far as I could tell.

That’s odd. It was all over CNN for a couple of days. I’m surprised it wasn’t covered locally.
