Back Up And Running
esterday morning, after receiving no less than three emails a day, for the last three or four days, from my webhost, reminding me to upgrade to the latest version of WordPress, I decided to do so. I followed all the instructions carefully, but, apparently, not carefully enough. I returned to the front page, after doing the upgrade, to find my site completely buggered.
Aw, hell, I said. I followed the steps to restore my back-ups, and damn near lost all my posts due to misunderstanding the instructions — saved that one by the skin of my teeth, let me just say. Thank goodness for redundant back-ups, right? Finally, I said to myself, Self, the easiest way to fix this buggery is going to be re-doing the site design. (Apparently, the newest WordPress was having severe arguments with much of my site layout and plug-ins and so forth.)
So, I picked up this new template, and spent all day yesterday redesigning the site. Today, I have much to do, so regular blogging should be able to continue tomorrow.

I’m glad you didn’t lose things in the transfer. That would have been awful.
For the record, I think the new style is rather nice.

Me too. I’ve got about two years of entries here that I’d hate to lose. And thanks — I wasn’t too sure about the layout at first, but it finished up pretty well.
