Punday Night: Pigeon Feet

nce upon a time, there lived a beautiful young fairy princess who dreamed of being a ballet dancer. One day, she read an ad in her email that announced the Royal Ballet’s next auditions in a nearby town. On audition day, the fairy princess hooked up one hundred white pigeons to her chariot, and off they flew to the theater. After witnessing her outrageous entrance, the director immediately told her to go back home.
”But why?” wept the broken-hearted shell of the would-be-ballerina.
”Because,” came the heartless reply, “I’ve got enough pigeon-towed dancers in the company already.”

Well, happy Memorial Day (observed), folks. Of course, I have to work today, but I think the plan is to grill out tonight, after work. At, you know, midnight or so. I think we’re doing BBQ steaks, some sort of potatoes. Possibly, there will be friends invited, as well. There may even be a beer. Just the one, though, and not actually beer, but Mike’s Hard Lemonade, which is about all I like. Or not. We’ll see.
The morning walks continue to go quite well. I’d like to start doing some working out at night, too, but I’ve been pretty damn tired after work, lately. We’ll have to see. I’ve also been kicking around the idea of signing up at one of the karate schools in town. Get in shape and learn to kick someone’s ass. Sounds great to me!
I renewed the website for another year — pricey, but worth it. Especially now that I’ve installed the new commenting system. And, that’s about all for today. If you’re bored, go check out the Creation Museum Carnival at Pharyngula. I have a post included there, and besides that, there’s about 70 other great posts bashing Ken Ham’s “Flintstone’s Science” museum. Good reading!

Given the reality of my generally recognized lack of maturity, I must confess that I frequently do enjoy children’s weekend programming. However, I would prefer it to be educational. Sometimes, I get fooled. This last weekend for instance, I was tempted to watch an animated feature about the Capital of the Sudan in Africa. Then, I realized that it was just another Saturday morning Khartoum show.
