Spring Cleaning
rJames loved his coloring book. We — “we” being Art, myself, Squatch, and VC — had a good time hanging out with MrJames Tuesday night, chatting and watching TV and so forth. Art and I made sure to get up at 6:30am the next morning to see MrJames off when his folks came to pick him up.
Wednesday was a funny day. MrJames had gone, and Art had to work, leaving me home alone for the first time in over a year. You get used to having people around. It was odd to be puttering around the house doing my chores and whatnot all by myself. I had intended to go out and do some errand-running, but completely lost motivation. I even ended up ordering in pizza, because I was just too lazy to leave the house. Heh. (By the way — it wasn’t a very good pizza. I was annoyed. 
)
Since Art has quit smoking, and MrJames has moved out, that leaves me the only smoker in the house. So, I decided that since it was only myself I was putting out, I’d kick smoking outside. That started yesterday. Of course, the weather sucked yesterday — cold and gray with a howling wind. That was fun.
Things are going to be pretty busy around here for the next few weeks. I have my spring cleaning to do, much of which will revolve around scrubbing things to get the cigarette smell out. Also, we’re moving Lil’ Art into the slightly bigger room vacated by MrJames, which is going to entail wall- and carpet-scrubbing, as well as painting and/or wall-papering. (Which is why we have to wash the walls. Otherwise — pffft.) Once that’s done, and Lil’ Art’s all moved in, we get to turn his former, slightly smaller room into our den/computer room. That’s the easy part, as we don’t have to clean much in there, and we’re just shuffling all our computer junk into it. Later on, when we can afford it, we’ll redecorate, but for now, we’re just putting things in there.
