Valentine’s Day

rt and I had a lovely Valentine’s Day. Art got us a suite at a very nice local hotel — the room had a huge tub with jets, and a king-sized bed, and all the luxuries. We got out of work and went straight there, to enjoy a nice, long soak in a blistering hot tub with jets, as well as some private time with no dogs barking at us or cats pestering us. It was a good night. As a bonus, sleeping in the gihunormous king-sized bed seems to have sold Art on the concept of our buying one. I’ve been saying for awhile that we should get a bigger bed.
We got an update on MrJames’ car, too. Apparently, it got repo’d. Mary (MrJames’ ex-wife) got a letter in the mail a few days ago, saying that the car had been repo’d, which caused all of us to go, “WTF?!” MrJames has been making his car payments right along on time, and has proof in the form of his bank statements, saying that the bank that has his car loan has been cashing his payment checks right along. Not only that, but the day the car was stolen, the bank claimed they didn’t have it, and the cops didn’t have it listed as having been repossessed.
After a phone call, MrJames discovered that the repo office of the bank seems to think he’s six months behind on his payments, and did, in fact, repo the car. Whereas his actual loan officer had no record of missed payments, and apparently had only just gotten notice of the repo. So, he’s gone to the bank to have a little chat with them about the situation. Hopefully he gets that resolved, and gets his car back.
