Interview

y days off were screwed up this week. Instead of Thursday and Friday, I had Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday was a pretty lazy day. I sat on my butt and read all day. I did manage to do a couple of loads of laundry, but that was about it. Thursday was more lively, because of course it’s Game Day, but also because I had a job interview at a local bank. It was for an E-banking clerk position, and it sounds as though it’s a mix of data entry and call center work. I heard a lot of things that I liked about the position, and one or two things I wasn’t so keen on (particularly the hours: 8am to 5pm — gaaaah, morning work). Of course, the nice thing about the job is that they pay the same rate I make currently, so if I got the job, I’d really only be losing my overtime pay, which has been thin on the ground lately anyway. Also, with the hours of the job, in theory, I could work there and still pick up a day or two at the restaurant waiting tables, to make up the difference.
The interview seemed to go very well. I like doing interviews when I already have a job, because it gives me a sense of freedom during the interview process. I don’t have to stress out and worry, because I already have a job. I don’t have to try and impress these people, because if they don’t like me and don’t hire me, I’m not out anything. Conversely, since I’m being honest and myself with the interviewers, if they do like me and do hire me, it bodes well for the job I’m about to take.
It seems like I have the skill set they’re looking for — IE, loads of customer experience, as well as internet savvy. I did really like the sound of the job. I hope they hire me. I won’t hear for a week or two, but it would be nice if I could swing into a new job before March.
It was also nice to finally get a call-back for an interview. I’ve applied at about fifteen places in the last month (which tells you how much hiring is going on around here), and hadn’t had one call-back until the bank called me. I was starting to get discouraged.
And now, I’ve got to go get ready for work. It’s snowing outside, off and on, heavy flurries, that kind of thing. Hopefully it doesn’t work up into a real snow storm. It would kill our business tonight, and I’m not in the mood for a slow night.

That would be awesome if you got that job! I know I complain about “the bank” sometimes but I really do like what I do so that makes up for my complaints:) I think the mindset is quite different there than in my office. That has to be a plus! If you look at the bank’s website I think you’ll like it. It is very user friendly. Hope everything else is going better. Talk to you soon. Love ya lots, MOM

I’ll cross my fingers for you.

Quick question, how long is a dog usually sick for?
Chloe was puking yesterday (everything she ate) so we left her
outside for the night to avoid any surprizes.
Then she slept most of the next day.

Now she seems ok, kinda hyper.

    What do you think?

    Bo –

Well, if she seems like she’s fine now, you’re probably okay. Does she have a warm nose? (That’s a fever.) Is she having any problems going to the bathroom, like constipation or diahrea? Is she eating and drinking normally, now? Is she current on all her shots? Does she seem to be in any pain or discomfort in the tummy/guts areas?

If you’ve got no, no, yes, yes, no, then you’re probably okay. If she’s having bathroom problems, not eating and/or drinking, or isn’t up on her shots, then you might want to have a vet look her over in case she’s really sick, or has swallowed an object that’s lodged in her guts or something.

But you know, if she’s bouncing around happy and hyper, and eating and playing, then she probably just got into something that disagreed with her and barfed until she felt better. Just keep an eye on her. It’s been my experience that dogs usually get the pukies when they’ve gotten into something that disagreed with them. Jazz cleaned off the bottom of MrJames’s shoes one night, all restaurant grease and muck, and then barfed all night because of it. She also barfs if she’s eaten plastic or something that didn’t sit right. Once, she chewed up a lighter, and that didn’t bother her at all. Grim, on the other hand, never does any of that stuff, and almost never gets the pukies. It’s hard to say. Dogs are weird like that. If she seems fine now, and hasn’t had a chance to get into anything really poisonious, then she’s probably fine. Just keep an eye on her for a couple of days to make sure she’s pooping right, and eating and drinking like she should. If she isn’t, or is running a fever, you might want to take her to the vet.

    Hope she’s okay!

Well, like I said, I really like the sound of the job. I’ve got my fingers crossed. It would be nice to luck into a good job that I liked doing. :)
